By accessing or using PermitAssist ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PermitAssist is an AI-powered tool that provides general information about building permit requirements for construction and trade work in the United States. The Service uses artificial intelligence and publicly available data to generate permit guidance based on user queries.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• The information provided is accurate, complete, or current
• The Service will meet your specific requirements
• Permit requirements listed reflect current local regulations
• The Service is free from errors or omissions

Building permit requirements change frequently. Local jurisdictions may have requirements that differ from what is displayed. PermitAssist is a starting point for research — not a substitute for consulting your local building department.

4. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PERMITASSIST AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Fines, penalties, or stop-work orders resulting from reliance on information provided
• Failed inspections, re-inspection fees, or project shutdowns resulting from AI-generated permit guidance
• Project delays or cost overruns due to inaccurate permit information
• Loss of revenue or business resulting from use of the Service
• Any damages arising from decisions made based on AI-generated content

5. User Responsibilities

You agree that you are solely responsible for:

• Verifying all permit requirements with the applicable local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ)
• Obtaining all required permits before commencing work
• Complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations
• Any decisions made based on information provided by the Service

6. Subscription and Payments

PermitAssist offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods. We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service in bulk
• Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission
• Use the Service in any way that could damage or overburden our infrastructure

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code comprising the Service is owned by PermitAssist. The AI-generated permit information produced in response to your queries is provided for your personal or business use only and may not be resold or redistributed.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Indiana.
